Selection Process
Candidates for the Scholarships apply for financial awards by completing an application and review process. The MENEMO Scholarship Fund advertises the availability of awards through a variety of media and promote each scholarship with the program administrators at the various schools that the Scholarship has been established in. A representative of The Fund is available to visits eligible schools to give informative presentations on the scholarships to students attending that particular school. At the presentations, students are advised how to best complete the application and questions relating to the application process are answered.
The online application becomes available on our website on January 1st each year. The deadline for completion is February 1st of that same year. Once completed, the applications are processed and delivered to the Scholarship Selection Committee.
The MENEMO scholarship Fund has an outstanding group of community volunteers who sit on the Selection Committee which reviews all applications. The Scholarship Selection Committee is comprised of professionals; including educators, businessmen and women, and individuals who are considered experts in certain areas. Most committee members have served many years and have a great deal of experience in our process. All share a passion for helping others.
Each selection committee member is assigned a certain amount of applications which are reviewed and ranked in the appropriate areas. The rankings are then submitted to our office, where they are entered into a program that compiles all the rankings and allows us to insure that every applicant is being equally assessed. Based on the rank from that scoring, the candidate is either declined or invited to interview.
Students who are selected to interview are contacted via email, phone and regular mail to schedule an interview. For the interview, all candidates are graded according to the results of their interview. During this process, you will be required to discuss your essay describe how you see yourself impacting social change in your community and or globally.
Once all information is obtained, we then take our selection committee grades and merge them with the established financial need to assign scholarships that are based on need and who best meets the established criteria.

“Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another.”
“The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think — rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men.”
“Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.”
